Tour Overview
The 6-day Great Migration Safari with Amoa Experience begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to Karatu via Arusha. The journey takes about 3.5 to 4 hours in total, with a brief stop in Arusha before reaching your lodge in Karatu. Staying here allows for a restful night and an early start the next day for a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater.
The safari kicks off with a morning game drive in Ngorongoro, home to the Big Five. Then, head to the Serengeti, famous for the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, spend two full days in the Serengeti, enjoying exciting game drives. The journey concludes with a scenic drive back to Arusha, wrapping up an unforgettable safari.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), meet your safari guide from Amoa Experience for a warm welcome. After a short briefing, begin the scenic drive to Karatu, a charming town near Ngorongoro. Along the way, enjoy views of Mount Meru, rolling hills, and Maasai villages. Arrive at the carefully selected accommodation , where you can relax after the journey. Enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for a restful night, preparing for the exciting safari ahead
Overnight: Eileens Trees
After an early breakfast, head to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations in Africa. Descend into the vast caldera, home to the Big Five, large herds of zebras, hippos, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a thrilling game drive across the crater floor, stopping for a picnic lunch near a scenic spot.
In the afternoon, begin the journey to the Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with chances to spot Maasai herders and wildlife along the way. Arrive in the Serengeti plains just in time for a breathtaking sunset. Check into your safari camp, enjoy a delicious dinner, and unwind under the African night sky.
Overnight: The Singing Grass , Karibu Camps
After breakfast, leave Karatu and drive into the wide-open plains of the Serengeti, spotting wildlife along the way. Spend three days following the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the land, often closely watched by predators. Each day brings new sightings — from river crossings filled with crocodiles to lions and cheetahs on the hunt. Morning and afternoon game drives let you explore different parts of the park, while bush lunches in the wild add to the experience. In the evenings, return to your comfortable safari camp to relax under the stars and listen to the sounds of the African night.
Overnight: The Singing Grass , Karibu Camps
After an early breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive as you exit the Serengeti National Park. The journey back to Karatu offers scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Karatu, relax and reminisce the whole safari while waiting for the next day transfer to the Airport for departure, marking the end of an incredible safari adventure.
